How to Start a Forex Brokerage
A practical technology-oriented checklist for founders planning a new online brokerage.
This is not legal, regulatory or investment advice. Financial-services licensing and client solicitation rules depend on jurisdiction and should be reviewed by qualified professionals.
1. Define your brokerage model
Clarify target markets, products, client profile, distribution strategy, execution model and required jurisdictions before choosing technology.
2. Confirm legal and compliance requirements
Brokerage regulation varies by jurisdiction. Obtain qualified legal and compliance advice before accepting clients or marketing regulated financial services.
3. Select your trading platform
For many new projects, MetaTrader 5 is the first platform to evaluate. Existing audiences or legacy projects may have MT4-specific requirements.
4. Design the infrastructure stack
Plan platform, liquidity, bridge/gateway, CRM, payments, KYC, hosting, reporting and operational integrations as one architecture.
5. Test before launch
Validate account flows, trading conditions, deposits and withdrawals, reporting, permissions, integrations, backups and incident procedures before going live.
Discuss your brokerage setup
Send your target markets, preferred platform, expected launch model and required integrations.
